Manayunk’s StrEAT Food Festival was a hit for our cameras AND our stomachs! There were vibrant colors, tons of people, and super diverse food trucks.
Since our move in February we have loved getting to be a part of the Manayunk community, and being asked to shoot their food festival was another great opportunity. It was a beautiful day with perfect blue skies and the hot sun wasn’t a huge deal with so many ice cream trucks around.
Manayunk.com’s event closed down the entire Main Street which was incredible because we did not know how packed with people it was going to be. The event was huge and the Manayunk-ians showed us how seriously they take their noms. From Caribbean cuisine to a beer garden on Cotton Street, families and friends travelled through local businesses to try a little bit of everything. There was a Recess Kid Zone at Canal View Park with a bouncy castle and live music to jam to mid-chew hosted by Destination Schuykill River.
Grape Street featured a free yoga event with instructor’s from Lululemon that was open to all, and local artists showcased their work. With over 100 vendors in attendance, some of our favorites included: our client East River Bank, Weckerly’s Ice Cream (Stacey’s fav featuring a Caramel Apple Oat Ice Cream Sandwich) and Eat My Hog (Laura’s fav with the free pulled pork sandwich). There was even a 3-D chalk drawing sponsored by festival sponsor Food Should Taste Good.
We loved documenting the laughter, occasional pup, or big first bite of a Dadz Grilled Cheez sandwich. Thank you for this chance to get to know you better, Manayunk. Our stomachs can’t wait for the next one!
