Food Photography for Manayunk — Brunch

JPG’s studio is located just a five minute walk from the busy, and oh-so-tasty Manayunk Main Street, the only Main Street in Philadelphia. On any given weekend, you could walk down the sidewalk, and see, smell, and hear all of the downtown nuances this awesome neighborhood of Philly has to offer. There are dozens of cafés and shops that spill outside, welcoming passersbys as the many different businesses compete for the next sale. The bar is set high, because Manayunk boasts some of Philadelphia’s most loved brunch spots the City of Brotherly Love has to offer. We love when we get asked to photograph food.

This summer, we had the opportunity to join the Manayunk Development Corporation on a tour through Manayunk’s most popular cafés, in search of some delicious and beautifully prepared brunch specials. We zipped around on a golf cart (one of my favorite aspects of the tour), tasting dishes and taking photographs for Manayunk Magazine’s Summer 2015 issue. JPG’s images are featured in a spread called “Rise and Shine”, which highlights our local favorites– mine was Derek’s banana french toast. One of Joe’s favorites is also at Derek’s.

Meeting our fellow business owners and neighbors showcasing what they love to do is the best part of these shoots — besides the tasty bites of deliciousness. We love Manayunk and its local charm. GO MNYK! In fact, we’ve had the pleasure of taking these kinds of tours before, including the Sandwich Tour and the Beer Tour, which were equally as delictable. In the end, we love promoting our neighborhood because we are proud to live here, and look forward to many more future tours!

Cheers, Laura
