Thomas and Mintu initially hired us to do a shoot for their parents. They were in a long-term relationship and wanted to make it more official with great portraits for their families. Little did Mintu know, JPG was in on the surprise proposal that happened later that night.
We started off at the OMNI hotel bar to take advantage of the great lighting, and playing off of the reflections without else anyone there. Then we journeyed out into Independence Mall and took advantage of the way the fall colors played off of their beautiful formalwear. Even though they were really dressed up, they had such an adventurous spirit that enabled us to get some amazing and unique shots.
We shot in front of Carpenters’ Hall, Chestnut Street, during a really funny stop for Chinese food and even used some back allies. Annie captured some shots with a cool double exposure effect, using red in the sky as the sun was setting.
When we parted ways, Thomas took Mintu back to the Omni Hotel where their families were waiting for his surprise proposal. Of course, we were right back in the mix to capture the big moment.
We were so honored to spend the day with Thomas and Mintu at the beginning of their journey to official matrimony. I’ve personally spent time in India and fell in love with the culture, the attire and how everything incorporates into their traditions. This was an awesome two-part shoot such a sweet couple. We wish them the best of luck in planning their beautiful wedding in India!
