Philly LGBT Affairs Office Bill Passed

JPG Photography could not be more pleased that the Philadelphia City Council passed a bill Thursday to make the Mayor’s Office of LGBT Affairs permanent. Our friend, Nellie Fitzpatrick works tirelessly to improve the lives of so many on issues facing the LGBT community. Not only are their experiences are shaped not only by sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, but by race, color, national origin, disability, socioeconomic status, age, religion, and the numerous crossings of these identities.

Recently, we had the pleasure of hearing her speak at the The Independence Business Alliance annual luncheon Monday, and Philadelphia Magazine ran one of our photos of her today with an article about to vote to make her office permanent.

Nellie joined us at our in house studio recently to have some beautiful headshots completed by yours truly. While we were shooting in our sunroom, she shared stories about her latest work on prison reform, her love for her tiny dogs and her upcoming nuptials. We love it when we get to see a different side to such a public figure whose work we admire! We look forward to being part of her journey and know that we will be nothing but proud of all she accomplishes.
