JPG Cares recently held our Photo Booth Giveaway Contest, awarding yours truly, the fantastically full-service Photo Booth, to several local deserving charity events. The first event I partied with was the Epilepsy Foundation Eastern Pennsylvania (EFEPA) at their 6th Annual Mardi Gras Gala on February 8th, at the Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia.
The EFEPA is a non-profit organization that offers free services and programs to the 109,000 individuals living with epilepsy/seizure disorder in Eastern Pennsylvania, and is on a mission to find a cure and help people overcome the challenges of living with epilepsy.
The Foundation offers training programs that educate teachers, nurses, students on how to make their schools a safe and welcoming environment for those affected by epilepsy. First-responder training is also available for firefighters, EMTs and police officers. They even hold an annual summer camp for kids and teens with epilepsy, and facilitate monthly Support Groups for individuals, caregivers, and families.
The annual Mardi Gras Gala raises significant funds for the Epilepsy Foundation, and the guests always have a lot to look forward to! The Gala features a cocktail hour, a three-course Creole style dinner, and dancing to local favorite Tribeca Grand. The only thing they’d been missing before this year was…yes, you guessed it, yours truly!
Despite the snowy weather, I arrived with my props in tow and my fabulous assistants, Grace Winter and Stacey, and was a hit all night long. Decked out in Mardi Gras beads and masks, everyone who passed in front of my flash brought the joy and celebratory spirit of Fat Tuesday. Even Miss Philadelphia couldn’t resist me!
I was glad to be at the Gala to make this night more memorable for the 350 guests in attendance, particularly the honored individuals who received awards for their contributions to the Epilepsy Foundation. Thanks for having me–JPG is proud to support this organization.
