One of my favorite quotes is, “I have the great privilege of being both witness and storyteller. Intimacy, trust and intuition guide my work.” by Jim Goldberg.
I did not begin my path in Photography until five years ago, but I always knew I wanted to do it. Ever since I was a kid, I loved to do creative things like drawing and painting. When I became a little older, I would make abstract art in Photoshop just for fun. My dad was creative as well; he did photography as a hobby throughout my childhood. One day, I found some old vintage Nikon cameras with a 50mm and telephoto lens in a closet. Needless to say, I still play around with them today.
Everyone has their own story about how they got into wedding photography. My passion for wedding photography came on the day of my brother’s wedding. I was the best man and had my camera on me 100% of the day, shooting all candids. This is how I found my journalistic approach to weddings. I had such a great time that I knew right then and there that this was the direction I wanted to pursue in photography. Thanks to JPG Photography for welcoming me to the family, I have learned so much from Joe and the rest of the team, and I am excited about the journey we have ahead of us.
When I’m not shooting weddings, I love street photography. I get my inspiration from all the Magnum photographers. Especially from my favorites: Henri Cartier-Bresson, Elliot Erwitt and our Philadelphia local, Steve McCurry. Outside of photography, I enjoy playing volleyball and snowboarding. I can also make a mean Lasagna.
