While we never get tired of the towering buildings and busy streets of JPG Photography’s native Philadelphia, there are few things that beat a good backyard wedding in the summertime. Our couple Ashley and Cory did it right at their relaxed, feel-good I-do’s in Moorestown, NJ.
Ashley and Cory’s wedding took place in the backyard of Ashley’s childhood home. She and two of her elementary school girlfriends got ready upstairs, reminiscing the New Kids on the Block concerts they attended as kids. They even dressed up Ashley’s parent’s dog Churchill in a little vest for the occasion. Cory got ready at the nearby Westin Hotel then headed to the house to make sure the backyard setup was perfect.
While shooting a first-look session before the ceremony makes for some great shots, waiting until the walk down the aisle to see each other like Ashley and Cory did made the ceremony particularly sweet and emotional. Because Cory’s dad wasn’t alive to see him get married, Ashley took the time to sew a photo of him into Cory’s suit jacket to keep him close to heart. There wasn’t a dry eye in the yard.
Much of Ashley and Cory’s decor was handmade, including cloth napkins for the reception and the ceremony arch made of branches and flowers. Ashley made up little gift bags for each of the kids who attended their wedding, filled with toys and activities to keep them occupied. Even the adults were entertained at the reception with backyard games like cornhole.
Ashley and Cory, thank you so much for choosing JPG’s team of wedding photographers for your beautiful Jersey wedding. We wish you every happiness as you begin your marriage together.
