NYC Flair at Ballroom at the Ben with Alexis and Brian

Alexis and Brian brought New York City attitude to Philly and JPG was delighted to show them Brotherly Love!  As an assistant principal in the New York city school system, Brain is an oxymoron of disciplinarian and nurturer. In his job he needs to be both loved and feared, and to be honest, this is pretty much how I felt all day. HA! Alexis is a delightful woman who encompasses sweetness, humor, intelligence and wit all stemming from the goodness of her heart. Together they make a beautiful couple who are supported by an incredible family and hilarious friends.

Alexis has several sisters, all of which were great fun — especially while they put on their dresses at the classy hotel Omni. Everyone in the room laughed hysterically when mom and sisters helped put on each other’s dresses. And Alexis’ mom has such a good heart. For two minutes, she stopped everything to gather the bridesmaids so she could personally thank them for their help. Her words were met with tears from many.

There are so many places in Philadelphia that I love to take my couples, so when Alexis and Brian told me that they needed a cheesesteak, Reading Terminal Market came to mind. I forgot, however, to account for Philly Car Show crowds. I have never seen Reading Terminal Market so packed and feared procuring an infamous cheesesteak would be impossible. Luckily, one of Aexis’ awesome bridesmaids was on it, bribing  her way to the front of the line! Triumphant with cheesesteak in hand we grabbed some fun photos after body-blocking a path to the lone unoccupied table in the joint.

Before the ceremony, close family watched the ketubah signing, officially making Alexis and Brian wife and husband in the eyes of Jewish law. Brian awaited his partner under the chuppah, which added a traditional elegance to the already beautiful space at Ballroom at the Ben. We went from a ceremony that was filled with joy and laughter to a big reception with lots of dancing! Alexis’ mother was honored with crowning ceremony, or krenzel, symbolizing that all of her children are now married.

Alexis’ fur stole was made by Jacks Piggy Bank and looked gorgeous on her! The stole added class and kept Alexis warm in the snowy air.

With all of the love that was shown to Alexis and Brian, it was clear that they have enough support to ensure that their relationship lasts. We were so happy to a part of their day. Thanks for having us, and I can’t wait to party some more with you both in NYC!
