Dana and Mike Light Up the Hyatt Regency, Philly

Dana and Mike’s wedding day at the Hyatt Regency Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing was a celebration fit for Hollywood.

The girls got ready at Dana’s family home in Upper Darby. We surprised Dana with videographer Laura, who was expected to come later. Getting ready is such an important part of the day, we couldn’t miss capturing it on film. In a touching mother-daughter moment Dana’s mom helped her with her necklace. Dana and her bridesmaids toasted with monogrammed wine glasses before they left for the church.

St. Georges Parish in Glenolden PA, was filled with family and friends as the couple exchanged vows. We got a beautiful stained glass silhouette of the couple before we headed to Frankford Hall for our group portrait session. There we staged our epic beer poor shot, a JPG favorite. After we had our fill of fun with the bridal party, we made our way to the Hyatt Regency Philadelphia for their cinema themed reception, complete with popcorn and candy bar.

Mike, a graphic designer, created custom movie posters that served as seating assignments. The posters included spoofs of “Lord of the Rings” and “Catch Me if You Can”. The Hyatt Regency made “Zoolander” inspired signature cocktails which I used for a sweet ring detail photo. We did portraits of the couple in their bridal suite where the balcony overlooking the city. It was a wonderful opportunity to work with the lights below.

It wouldn’t be hollywood without a big entrance, so the bridal party costumed up with feather boas. The bride and groom choreographed their dance to LMFAO’s “”Party Rock Anthem”. One of the night’s highlights was the homage to the Mummers parade. Everyone did a Mummers strut with umbrellas to Alabama Jubilee. They gave Stacey two froggy car umbrellas to take home to her kids (which they love). The bridal party surprised Dana and Mike with a rendition of “Cups” from the movie “Pitch Perfect”. Everyone had a blast in the JPG photo booth. It was situated near a gorgeous window that overlooked Penns Landing. MIke and Dana designed a custom backdrop comprised of photographs of their time together. It was so ideal that the Hyatt Regency asked us to bring the photo booth to their company party next month!

Thank you Dana and Mike, your celebration was a blast and we were honored to be there. We wish you endless happiness.

Best,

Joe G.
