Throughout Jodi and Doug’s wedding, I witnessed history being made and observed. It seemed important to the couple and their families that while they celebrate the present, they remember their pasts.
Doug’s suite at the DoubleTree Hotel could have been a clubhouse as the guys hung out and reminisced about the old days. Not to get stuck talking about the past, the men toasted to Doug’s future with Jodi. Just a few doors down, Jodi’s mother and sister giggled their way through buttoning the bride into her dress just after we took some stunning detail shots of the beautiful gown.
Outside the men were, of course, game to take a few shots horsing around and goofing off, taking full advantage of the clear skies and amazing sunlight.
We were excited to spend the day at Temple Beth El in New Jersey with Jodi and Doug as well have the opportunity to be on the beautiful grounds amongst the amazing fall colors. At the time, there were incredible reds and yellows, adding a special sparkle to the wedding photos. We can’t wait to revisit the venue for her twin sister, Danni’s, wedding.
At the reception, everyone was ready for a celebration. Doug’s parents even shared a special moment of their own history when they danced along to the song of their own first dance, bringing the day to a full circle.
Jodi and Doug, it was fun to watch you make your own history while your family relived some their own. It was an honor to document your day.
