At JPG, we love seeing couples incorporate different traditions into their weddings to make the day both unique and meaningful. Juanita and John included a number of them in their wedding at the Cira Centre in Philadelphia.
Juanita and her bridal party got ready for the day at her home in Bella Vista. From there, the bridesmaids (and her Man of Honor!) took a trolley to the wedding venue. The trolley then picked up the groomsmen from the Sheraton Society Hill.
Juanita was instantly at ease when she saw the band practicing early and everything already set up. The ceremony space was draped in white curtains and decorated with vintage photos of her and John’s family members.
Juanita was teary-eyed reading her vows that she had written for John. In a Celtic tradition, several close friends and family members gathered around them and placed red flowers on the floor in a circle as a sign of unity.
The cocktail hour and dinner was catered by JG Domestic, a Jose Garces restaurant, so the food was guaranteed awesome. Comfort food like fried chicken and mac and cheese was a huge hit. Before Juanita and John cut their cake, Juanita invited her female friends and family members to perform a cake pull, where special charms signifying good luck are pulled from ribbons in the cake. During the toasts, Juanita gave a touching speech, thanking her mother for raising her.
Thank you, Juanita and John, for having us be a part of your beautiful wedding. We hope you share a long and blessed life together.
