Heidi and Mike’s Seaside Park Wedding in New Jersey wasn’t just a wedding I requested to shoot – it was one I literally begged for! Since I spent some time in my childhood growing up here, and after hearing about The Sawmill’s restoration after Hurricane Sandy, I knew this was a wedding I was destined to shoot. Of course, Heidi and Mike’s loving families and the adoration they showed for one another was more than enough fuel to get me to pack my camera bag.
I was with Mike as he was getting ready at the house. I could tell he was a little bit nervous for the events of the day, but his love and excitement truly shone through to the end. He drove us both to the ceremony venue at St. Catharine of Siena, a beautiful little church in Seaside Park. We made sure to carve out some time to take some photos on the boardwalk. Heidi’s dress was a unique take on the traditional white gown, featuring a set of stripes that really made it pop!
The venue had furniture that featured their initials labeled onto them, which was a fun surprise to find. And they played out a full slideshow at the bar of some funny and heartwarming memories between the newlyweds. As the crowd of family and friends celebrated with the toasting of some Moscow Mules, Heidi’s dad made an appearance in full lederhosen, passing around a bottle of Jagermeister for the crowd to drink. And once those drinks hit, the dancing never stopped! From the minute we arrived to the very end, we were overwhelmed by the lives and love of this amazing couple.
Danke to Heidi and Mike for including JPG Photography in this awesome day. And until your next event, we’ll just say “auf wiedersehen”!
