Jackee and Justin wanted a small and intimate South Philly elopement and the simplicity was beautiful. We met Jackee and Justin along with his kids in an ACME parking lot in South Philly. Jackee’s friend officiated the simple ceremony at the Singing Fountain off Passyunk. The billowing umbrellas had blue stripes to match the color found in Justin’s bright blue tie and Jackee’s baby blue heels. His kids went off with a family member so the happy couple could take some unique shots around Philly and spend their first hours married focusing just on each other.
Jackee posed on top of a weathered water grate stamped with Passyunk Ave on its steel plate, contrasting with the baby blue of her heels. We walked to her salon to show off to her stylist friends, then went on to the real reason they chose Passyunk. The King of Jeans building is about to be torn down. Before it was gone the couple wanted to recreate the iconic vintage blue sign to cherish even when the building is gone. They stood in the middle of the street in the pouring rain for it. That’s commitment, folks. Before leaving we also made sure to stop at Dive Bar where they had their first date and reminisced on how far they have come since they met online.
From there we caught an Uber to South Street for photos at Magic Gardens where we are a preferred vendor as we have had many shoots there. The different colored glass created mosaics around Jackee and Justin as they kissed and joked around. We found ‘I love him’ and ‘I love her’ shirts in a storefront window and they jumped right in the display window to take photos with them. Philly has detail after detail, allowing wedding photographers like us to try new things and give Jackee and Justin photos to always remember.
We had the run of the place at Tattooed Mom where they took some seriously sexy photos. The contrast of the graffiti walls with Jackee’s classic tea length dress was stunning. Her bare feet against the deep green pool table felt looked adorable with the sheer florets on her dress, and Justin’s slicked back hair with rolled up shirtsleeves finished off his super hot rockabilly vibe, which we highlighted with portraits of him at the bar.
Since our awesome time together I have been happy to keep in touch with them. Jackee even came to model at a shoot for North Bowl, I just couldn’t help but ask her to bring sexy back to JPG! These guys are the epitome of a favorite JPG couple; we were so happy to gain more experience in the small wedding photography field with them. Their wedding was so classy and unique Clever Weddings even posted about it!
Whether your wedding is large or small, JPG wants to be there for you. We have a team who can be ready at a moments notice for a last minute elopement. We love the intimate setting and have elopement and small portrait packages. You don’t need to go all out for an 8 hour shoot, we can be with you to have what you want your way on your day!
Thanks for the opportunity to celebrate with you, Jackee and Justin.
